Changing the Coop on the Go!
Coop changing when you traveling can be a challenge, but we managed it. The only materials we needed to bring along were the bedding materials (kitty litter, cedar chips, and straw), as well as some food.
- First, we removed the old bedding. As the cedar chips and straw are organic, we threw them in a pile on the ground, but since kitty litter can clog up an animals digestive system, we put the kitty litter in a bag to bring home and dispose.
- Everything else went as usual, except that they were from buckets instead of bags. For the cedar chips, the amount we used for a 3' x 3' box with a one inch layer of chips was three-quarters of a five gallon bucket. The straw amounted to three-quarters of a five gallon bucket as well.
